Update Meeting on Green Schools Legislation
In follow up to our introductory meetings in January concerning the development of Green Legislation for New Jersey Schools, you are cordially invited to attend an "Update" meeting on proposed legislation on Thursday, July 23, 2009 as follows:

The Legislative Outreach Committee, with the assistance of Insight Consulting, has introduced a bill (A 4087) that is being sponsored by NJ State Assemblyman Reed Gusciora of Trenton. We are working to also have a State Senator co-sponsor the bill. We anticipate the bill will be introduced in September when the Legislature returns from their summer recess, and your feedback is greatly needed and appreciated.

Nominations for New Associate Board Member and Other Positions on the Board
In 2008, the NJSSA Board of Trustees approved the addition of an Associate Member to serve on the Board of Trustees. Associate members have a voice but not a vote on association matters; however, the Board would like to have a representative from this member segment serve on the Board to provide information and feedback from this important group.
If you are interested in serving or wish to nominate someone to serve, please click here for a nomination form. The nominated person must be a member of the NJSSA and associate members include cleaning contractors, educational and institutional building maintenance managers and service contractors. Nominations for two (2) manufacturer representatives and two (2) manufacturers to serve on the Board of Trustees are also needed. Please click here for the nomination form. We encourage members to step forward and help guide the association in 2010.
