Norman Leibowitz of NORSHEL Industries Received
The 2006 NJSSA Bob Stader Award

May 17, 2006, Butler, New Jersey – Norman Leibowitz, founder and president of Norshel Industries in Croydon, PA was honored with the 2006 Bob Stader Lifetime Achievement Award by the New Jersey Sanitary Supply Association (NJSSA) on May 2, 2006. NJSSA President Fred Schimanski (Clean Smart/Select Wholesalers) presented the award at the President’s Reception and Annual Meeting held at the Borgata Hotel Casino and Spa in conjunction with the Supply Line 2006 trade show.
Leibowitz was recognized for his long term service to the jan/san industry. In addition to participating in the NJSSA and the Supply Line trade show from its earliest days, Leibowitz has held volunteer positions at the International Sanitary Supply Association and Sanitary Supply Wholesalers Association. He served the latter as president.

After serving as a Military Policeman in Frankfurt, Germany during World War II, Leibowitz joined the Fuller Brush Company. He established Norshel Industries in 1972, a master distributor of jan/san products. His sons Michael, Aaron and Eric now provide the second generation of leadership. In his acceptance speech, Leibowitz cited the value of wife Shelly’s contributions to the success of Norshel. He thanked fellow members for their friendship and support over the years and encouraged them to get involved in their industry organizations.
This is the second Bob Stader Lifetime Achievement Award to be presented. In 2004, Russ Leahy was awarded the first Bob Stader Award. Leahy recently passed away and was remembered by the industry. The recipient is selected biennially by the NJSSA Board of Trusties and the award is named in memory of Bob Stader, a founding member of NJSSA.
