15th ANNUAL NJSSA OPERATION CLEAN SWEEP
WAS HELD ON MAY 19TH
|
May 22, 2007. The 15th Annual Operation Clean Sweep, sponsored by the New Jersey Sanitary Supply Association, was held on May 19, 2007 at HomeFront in Lawrenceville, New Jersey. Over 25 NJSSA members and their friends and families volunteered to clean this facility and 20 NJSSA member companies donated cleaning supplies and equipment which was housed at Norshel Industries in Croydon, PA.
"I want to thank all the volunteers and member companies who supported our 15th Operation Clean Sweep event," said Dan Rubinstein, NJSA Trustee and Chair of the Social Outreach Committee. "Once again our members came through for us with their dollars, supplies, and most importantly their time to help this community program," added Rubinstein.
This deserving facility provides food, housing, furniture, after-school care, and many social services for those without homes and in need. HomeFront was selected by the NJSSA Board of Trustees after Rubinstein and Fred Schimanski, NJSSA Board President, visited the facility and met with the organization’s leaders. "We felt their outreach to the Trenton area community was deserving of an Operation Clean Sweep facelift and we wanted to bring them much-needed cleaning and food supplies to help families who do not have a home to go to," stated Schimanski (Clean Smart/Select Wholesalers).

Developed in 1993 by NJSSA, Operation Clean Sweep expanded to other regional and state associations, and in 1995 became a national community-based program of the International Sanitary Supply Association. In 1996, "Operation Clean Sweep" received an award of excellence from the American Society of Association Executives “Advance America” campaign. Nationally, over 1,000 member companies have participated in Operation Clean Sweep over the years.
“Operation Clean Sweep was established to enhance the quality of life within New Jersey communities,” said Rubinstein (Osprey Sales). "NJSSA members have been incredibly supportive of Operation Clean Sweep in the past and we know they will continue to help us in the future." A complete list of Operation Clean Sweep member companies who donated their time and supplies will be available on the NJSSA website at www.njssa.net
